Three years ago today while staying at the Woods' cabin on Cape Cod, after a round of mini golf and a giant hot dog, I made the best (and easiest) decision of my life by agreeing to marry Alexander D. Woods. At this point it might be fitting (and cliche) to say something like "Little did I know that 3 years later we'd be in France together". But the truth is, I had a sneaking suspicion that life with Alex would be full of fun adventures.
To celebrate (and to help combat the 95+ degree heat) we started our day off with an ice cream treat at a local restaurant.
We then headed down to our last market day in Les-Eyzies and purchased our last rotisserie chicken of the season (with potatoes that had been sitting at the bottom of the roaster sucking up all of the juicy chickeny goodness).
To celebrate our 'Three Year Engagement Anniversary" (Hey, we're all about finding reasons to celebrate, in a couple of months it will be our "Four Years Since we Met Anniversary) Alex bought me an awesome-tastic new bag
and these great new woven pillow cases made in France!
We also managed to escape the heat by re-visiting the museum at Les-Eyzies.
This time we got to tour on top of the museum itself (where a castle once was) looking over the town.
And there was a Neanderthal statue...so of course..
The heat has finally broken (thanks to a thunderstorm), and we're listening to the rain outside our window. We managed to ship off 5 boxes of rocks, and will be doing some more packing/shipping tomorrow. Despite the heat we are not looking forward to leaving France!
